Outside

Time is Flyin’ By

Posted in Birthday, Friends, Playtime by

Cannot believe it’s been almost TWO months since I last posted….shameful!
These goofballs have kepts us quite busy!We get a lot of smiles every day. These guys LOVE flashlights!  One of their favorite games is taking their flashlights into mommy & daddy’s room, turning off the lights and shining them on the walls.  We can hear lots of giggles when they do it!
We also made a quick trip down to OKC to see my dad and stepmom.  While we were there we ran to Kite Park.
We had some fun play dates!
We even got some snow.  It was like this for about 10 hours then it had pretty much melted by bedtime.
So glad we got to enjoy it while it lasted.

And finallly, we recently celebrated Grandpa’s 75th Birthday!
Until next post…
Which could be months obviously!

Hawsies & a fake duck

Posted in Outside by

Last Sunday we took the boys out to Jason’s aunt Kim and uncle Tom’s farm.  We have taken them once before and Sutton loved riding the hawsie but Fynn not so much.  As soon as they saw the hawsies Sutton tried climbing through the fence to get to them (our fearless child) but Fynn was good saying hi from a distance.

I think he rode Betty about three different times.  Even after Uncle Tom took Betty back to her closed in field he still wanted to “ride hawsie.”
Fynn was hesitant to get on the horse but once she started walking he FREAKED OUT.
They have a small fish pond with a fake duck in it, which literally entertained the boys for well over 30 minutes.  No lie.
And of course we sat watching and waiting for one of them to fall in.
Thanks Aunt Kim and Uncle Tom for having us out to play!
We will be back VERY SOON.

Until next post…

Rocks, it’s the simple things

Posted in Lake House, Outside by

I’m convinced there is something in boys’ DNA that makes throwing rocks into water fun.
After the birthday party at Safari Joe’s, we went to spend the night at the lake house with some of our best friends.

The backyard is HUGE and my step-dad had someone come clear off the shore, which made it perfect for the boys’ to play and throw rocks.

I love how Fynn really gets into his throwing efforts.

It’s all about finding that perfect rock.

We are such tough guys!

And we are done.
Now that the boys are older we will be spending more time at the lake house.
It’s so quiet and relaxing!  And our kids are easily more entertained outside than inside.

Balance Bikes

Posted in Outside, Playtime by

For Christmas the boys got new balance bikes from my dad and stepmom.  They didn’t quite understand them until recently and now that it’s been so nice at night we have been letting them take them out front.

I’m coming Mom!

These are FUN!

This is my favorite.  They both stopped and just looked at each other and started their own little twin conversation.  Moments like those make me so happy I had twins and even happier they have each other.

Thank you dad and Linda for the bikes!

Chase

Posted in Outside, Playtime by

The boys’ new favorite game to play outside is “chase mama” and I LOVE IT!

Yes, he has handfuls of grass that he likes to throw on my head and then giggle really hard!

I should probably not encourage them but it’s so much fun.

Yes I encourage them to chase me, who wouldn’t want to see these smiles and hear those giggles!

Plus, any parent will tell you, any activity that wears the kids out is a good thing!

Are you sure it’s March?

Posted in Cousins, Outside by

The other day we came home from school and went straight to the backyard.  It was FAR too nice to play indoors.

Fynn loves the sidewalk chalk!

I brought their slide down from the playroom and of course Sutton can only go down head first.

My cheeser!

Sutton still loves this sand table!

Of course we played CHASE MAMA!

They love to pick up grass or sand from the table and throw it on me.

LOVE THESE BOYS!

Fynn loved watching the grass fall!
CHEAP ENTERTAINMENT!

I love that these two have each other!

I had invited my inlaws over for dinner so the cousins got to play a bit.

At one point Eric ran inside then locked us out.

She is going to be one tough little girl with all these boys!

HUGS FOR GRANDPA!

Flashback Friday – BirthDAY

Posted in Birthday by

I always think birthdays are a BIG deal.  Blame my mom.
When I was younger I would wake up on my birthday to a completely decorated bedroom AND bathroom.
I’d have a birthday toothbrush, banner, balloons, custom favorite breakfast….you name it.  I was SPOILED on my birthday.

Sooo, now having kids of my own I make a BIG deal about it myself.
For their first birthday I took pictures ALL day starting with waking up, then breakfast, then play time, dinner and finally cupcakes.

I included last year’s photos….this was before I learned manual mode and I cringe at my pictures from last year.

Yesterday I managed to capture most of their day.

Of course the morning started with me clicking away.

Good morning Sutton…not sure you are awake yet.

We ate breakfast then headed to school with some donut holes for their party there.

They were at school until 2:30 and then came home with me for a snack and some PLAY TIME!

Snack time!!!

It was actually pretty nice outside so we went out to play!
They got to use their new sidewalk chalk from their birthday party.

We also played t-ball and they enjoyed running around chasing each other.

We didn’t stay outside too long…it started getting a little chilly
and Sutton was exhausted from NOT NAPPING at school.

We read some books, wrestled, played diner and did some puzzles.

Our family January 19, 2011

After our afternoon was complete we went to meed Daddy, Papa O and Brenda at
our favorite Mexican restaurant, Ted’s.
The boys LOVE LOVE LOVE their cheese dip, which they bring right when you sit down along with homemade flour tortillas and yummy salsa.

After dinner we played a bit more but went to bed early.
BIG DAY!  Exhausted boys.

And now I have two-year-olds.
Before I can blink they will be 3.

Until next post…

DUCKS!!!

Posted in Fynn, Grandma, Jason, Outside, Sutton by

Jason’s grandma wanted us to bring the boys out and take them to the lake to feed the ducks.  We drove over to Grandma and Grandpas for dinner and Jason’s Aunt Kim came along with us.  We were so excited because the boys have yet to see REAL ducks, they just see pictures and say “QUACK.”  Fynn jumped right in and LOVED them.  Sutton took a little bit longer but by the time we were leaving he wasn’t ready to go.  They both would throw the bread and then CLAP with such pride.  These ducks were fearless and all they cared about was the bread.

Thanks Grandma!

We had to clap for our good throwing skills!

Me and My Sutton

After we fed the ducks we went over to the playground to PLAY!!!

This was GENIUS!  I wish ALL parks had a double slide.

The boys had SOOOO much fun they were WORN OUT!!!  I cannot wait to take them back, especially once it cools off a bit.  The boys were SO hot but didn’t want to stop playing.  We tried to get a picture of the boys with their great grandparents but they were not cooperating.  Next time we will get the photo BEFORE we show them the playground.

Thanks Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Kim!!!  We love you!

Until next post…

Finally…Outside Again!

Posted in Fynn, Outside, Playtime, Sutton, Twins by

Since Friday morning the boys have been kept inside due to all the sickness going on in our house!  With Fynn starting in on Friday morning and then Sutton joining in LATE Sunday night we had a VERY lazy, relaxing weekend at home.  Not very picture-worthy.  Yesterday afternoon both boys seemed to be feeling a LITTLE better and they were getting stir-crazy so we got to play outside and boy were they HAPPY!

They LOVE to climb into these chairs and CHILL.  Fynn is seriously trying to figure out the bubbles.

Fynn discovered the sidewalk chalk and started making mama a pretty picture. 🙂

It gets everywhere!

Sutton seems to be a serious artist.

If only he could REALLY mow.  Our poor new sod had been taken over by horrible weeds!  You can mow and within a day they are back!  Ready for winter. 🙂

Sutton is hauling all the trimmings! 🙂

This was TOO funny!  Fynn stood talking to his reflection for at least a minute.
Probably telling himself how cute he is!

Love these little chairs!

Although we are SLOWLY getting back to normal they didn’t last TOO long outside.

I hope next weekend we can do something fun like swim or go to the splash park!

Until next post…
