It’s Fall Y’all

Posted in Outings, Outside by

We recently went to the pumpkin patch with the boys and they had so much fun they are still talking about it today!

And we learned our boys are terrified of scarecrows.

Simple Things – The Sprinkler

Posted in Outside, Water by

Jason and I were gone for seminar Friday and Saturday but when we got home Saturday evening the boys wanted to play in the sprinkler.  Aunt Kim had been watching them while we were gone and had gotten it out for them to play so they were all about it.

I do always appreciate it when my husband takes the camera from me so I can prove I do exist.

Hawsies & a fake duck

Posted in Outside by

Last Sunday we took the boys out to Jason’s aunt Kim and uncle Tom’s farm.  We have taken them once before and Sutton loved riding the hawsie but Fynn not so much.  As soon as they saw the hawsies Sutton tried climbing through the fence to get to them (our fearless child) but Fynn was good saying hi from a distance.

I think he rode Betty about three different times.  Even after Uncle Tom took Betty back to her closed in field he still wanted to “ride hawsie.”
Fynn was hesitant to get on the horse but once she started walking he FREAKED OUT.
They have a small fish pond with a fake duck in it, which literally entertained the boys for well over 30 minutes.  No lie.
And of course we sat watching and waiting for one of them to fall in.
Thanks Aunt Kim and Uncle Tom for having us out to play!
We will be back VERY SOON.

Wagon Rides

Posted in Outside by

Now that it is nice outside, we have started taking nightly walks with the boys in their wagon.  It’s usually Daddy’s idea and the boys are quick to run to the garage and hop in the wagon.

Daddy always makes it fun!
We have to say “hi” and “bye” to the fountain.
They won’t fit in this wagon much longer.

Rocks, it’s the simple things

Posted in Lake House, Outside by

I’m convinced there is something in boys’ DNA that makes throwing rocks into water fun.
After the birthday party at Safari Joe’s, we went to spend the night at the lake house with some of our best friends.

The backyard is HUGE and my step-dad had someone come clear off the shore, which made it perfect for the boys’ to play and throw rocks.

I love how Fynn really gets into his throwing efforts.

It’s all about finding that perfect rock.

We are such tough guys!

And we are done.
Now that the boys are older we will be spending more time at the lake house.
It’s so quiet and relaxing!  And our kids are easily more entertained outside than inside.

Balance Bikes

Posted in Outside, Playtime by

For Christmas the boys got new balance bikes from my dad and stepmom.  They didn’t quite understand them until recently and now that it’s been so nice at night we have been letting them take them out front.

I’m coming Mom!

These are FUN!

This is my favorite.  They both stopped and just looked at each other and started their own little twin conversation.  Moments like those make me so happy I had twins and even happier they have each other.

Thank you dad and Linda for the bikes!

Sunday Funday

Posted in Outside by

Yesterday turned out to be a family Sunday Funday!
Aunt Jenny brought the cousins over for some sprinkler fun.
Eric loves to put his face in the sprinkler and try to drink the water.
Fynn trying to test the water..
Sutton
Fynn still a little hesitant.
Elliot

Aunt Jenny also brought some Taco Bueno.  The boys have never had an entire bean burrito (party size for you Bueno people) to just eat up.  Fynn was in burrito heaven!
Oh yeah….he enjoyed it!

It’s going to be sad when our cousins have to leave.

Chase

Posted in Outside, Playtime by

The boys’ new favorite game to play outside is “chase mama” and I LOVE IT!

Yes, he has handfuls of grass that he likes to throw on my head and then giggle really hard!

I should probably not encourage them but it’s so much fun.

Yes I encourage them to chase me, who wouldn’t want to see these smiles and hear those giggles!

Plus, any parent will tell you, any activity that wears the kids out is a good thing!

Are you sure it’s March?

Posted in Cousins, Outside by

The other day we came home from school and went straight to the backyard.  It was FAR too nice to play indoors.

Fynn loves the sidewalk chalk!

I brought their slide down from the playroom and of course Sutton can only go down head first.

My cheeser!

Sutton still loves this sand table!

Of course we played CHASE MAMA!

They love to pick up grass or sand from the table and throw it on me.

LOVE THESE BOYS!

Fynn loved watching the grass fall!
CHEAP ENTERTAINMENT!

I love that these two have each other!

I had invited my inlaws over for dinner so the cousins got to play a bit.

At one point Eric ran inside then locked us out.

She is going to be one tough little girl with all these boys!

HUGS FOR GRANDPA!

The Farm

Posted in Ducks, Outside by

The day following Grandma’s memorial service we took the boys along with the family and went to Aunt Kim and Uncle Tom’s farm.

They have horses, a cow, some goats, ducks, lots of land and room for boys to RUN and ROAM!

They instantly knew what the cow was and what it says.

Sutton was so excited to ride a horse…Fynn on the other hand…not so much.

I always tell Jason Sutton will be the more adventurous child, like his daddy.

Fynn didn’t mind looking at the horse from outside the fence.

Then Uncle Tom got some feed for the ducks…that was very entertaining for toddlers.

Even though the ducks stayed on the OPPOSITE side of the pond.

Cousin Ellie kept trying to eat the feed!

Then the poor girl took a spill into the pond and wasn’t too happy about it.

Cousin Eric

My two buddies!

We will definitely be taking them back to the farm more often!

They LOVED it!
